TermoFlo

Your question

Which of the two homes will be cheaper to heat?

You're choosing between two flats or houses, and price isn't the only thing that matters: heating bills can differ several times over. TermoFlo works out the heat loss of each option and the indicative fuel cost, so you can compare them fairly.

How it works — three steps

  1. 1

    What you enter

The size and insulation of each home, plus the fuel it's heated with.

  2. 2

    What you get

The heat loss in kilowatts for each option and an indicative monthly heating cost.

  3. 3

    The decision you make

Choose the home that's cheaper to run, with the numbers side by side.

A worked example with real numbers

Two flats of the same size

Two 60 m² flats look identical, but one is better insulated: its heat loss is about 3 kW versus 5 kW for its neighbour. Over a heating season that's a noticeable difference in the bills — and that's exactly what the calculation shows.
